Superintendent

It is with great enthusiasm that I write to you as the new Superintendent of Valley View Local Schools. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this vibrant school district, and I look forward to working closely with our students, families, educators, and community members to build on the strong foundation that has been established.

As I begin my tenure, I am struck by the deep sense of pride that permeates our school community. This pride is evident in the academic achievements of our students, the remarkable successes of our athletic teams, and the talents showcased through our arts programs. Valley View has long been recognized as a beacon of excellence, and I am committed to preserving and enhancing this well-deserved reputation.

One of the hallmarks of a Valley View education is the emphasis placed on developing well-rounded, adaptable individuals. Our students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with their peers, and have day-to-day attendance at school. This fall, you will see some changes within our district regarding attendance.  We are pursuing means by which to inform our school community of the detrimental effects of missing two or more days per month.   We will have increased exposure on our website, social media outlets, and postcard mailings to let students know they are missed when they are out.  Our hope is that this brings light to the importance of being present.  Our intent is to create a student’s attitude  that not only values attendance while enrolled, but also when they enter the workforce.

Equally impressive is the empathy and compassion displayed by our students.  We are very excited that all students in K-12 will have all of their classrooms under one roof by December, allowing for district community service initiatives, peer mentoring programs, and collaboration across grade levels. This will allow them to cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives. This emphasis on emotional intelligence, coupled with a strong foundation in core academic disciplines, prepares our students to become ethical, socially conscious leaders of tomorrow.

Of course, the success of our school district is not solely attributable to our students. It is the dedicated efforts of our talented educators, the unwavering support of our families, and the involvement of our engaged community that have propelled Valley View to the forefront of educational excellence. Together, we have created an environment where students can thrive, explore their passions, and reach their full potential.

As we look to the future, I am excited to build upon this legacy of achievement. I envision a district where innovation and creativity are celebrated, where technology is leveraged to enhance learning, and where every child is empowered to reach new heights. Through open communication, collaborative decision-making, and a steadfast commitment to our shared values, I believe we can take Valley View to even greater levels of success.
