Valley View Local Schools Notice of Public Input Session
IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) federal grant funds support special education services for school-aged children in Ohio. The district is seeking comments from the public on how to allocate and expend these funds. The IDEA-B funds will support the provision of special education services to children with disabilities who are ages 3 to 21 and enrolled in the Valley View School District. The district currently utilizes and plans to continue to utilize these funds, to provide intervention specialists and early intervention services to our students.
Districts receiving special education grant funds are required to be compliant with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act regulations.
Guidance for districts on the use of federal special education grant funds may be found in the links below. These documents provide detailed information on the options that a district may consider as it develops its program of special education and related services to children with disabilities.
The Valley View Local School District Special Education Department will accept public comments on the use of funds for the 2024-2025 school year until February 11, 2025. If you have any suggestions or input, please contact the Special Education Director, Kevin Phillips at 937-855-4203.
Community members may also publicly comment at the February 10, 2025, Board Meeting at 6:00 pm in the Valley View High School Auxiliary Gym.

A public hearing to discuss calendar options is required 30 days before Board approval. That hearing was held Monday, December 9, 2024, during the Regular meeting of the Valley View Board of Education. The public does not vote on these options but is welcome to send feedback to the Board of Education.

accordance with Section 2923.122(D)(1)(d)(ii) of the Ohio Revised Code that it has
authorized one or more persons to go armed within a school operated by the Board.
