The School Community

The Valley View Local School District is located in the Southwest corner of Montgomery County. Only 7 miles from Dayton, the district comprises 68 square miles and lies in the areas bordering St. Rt.4 and Jamaica Road. St. Rt. 35 in Jackson Township, Preble County Line Rd. to the west and Friend Rd. in German Township. State Route 725 runs east to west through the district.

Founded in 1804, the Germantown and Farmersville schools were among the first in the county. Currently, there are 1800 students enrolled in the Valley View Local School District. Valley View is a Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) member.

The Dupps Company is the largest employer in the district. It is a rendering company with affiliates worldwide.
Homes in the district range in price from $100,000 to $1 million.

The Valley View community features a historic significance with Indian folklore and primitive displays found at the Farmersville Historical Society and the Historical Society of Germantown. 

The area is historically known as the “Jewel of Twin Valley." The Germantown Dam and Conservancy District is just west of Germantown. The 1,665 acres offer the community and visitors over 16 miles of biking and 22 miles of wilderness hiking trails, along with 800 feet of elevated walkways.

The Reserve offers picnicking and a nature reserve complete with ecological windows where wildlife, including Bobcats, can be observed.

The community has three banks, a full-service grocery, two pharmacies, several restaurants, and two dozen churches within its boundaries. Residents enjoy several civic groups including the Lions Club, two Rotaries, an IOOF, Eagles, and a Business Association.

The government includes two village councils and two township boards. There are three police departments in the district, two fire departments, and two highly accredited rescue emergency squads.
