Hall of Fame Inductees

The Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce the new inductees for the Valley View Hall of Fame Class of 2022. The presentation will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, before the Boys Varsity basketball game with National Trail High School. The ceremony will begin at approximately 6:45 PM. There will be a reception to meet the inductees prior to the ceremony in the High School Library. This year’s inductees are all being honored for their professional achievement and service to the Valley View Community.

The new inductees are: 

Mrs. Shannon Cox, a 1991 graduate of Valley View High School and graduate of Miami University. She began her career as a Valley View teacher and coach, and later served as a principal at Madison Schools and Springboro Schools. Cox is currently the Superintendent of the Montgomery County Educational Service Center (MCESC)  in Dayton, Ohio. Now in her third year as an award-winning Superintendent, she was named the recipient of the 2021 Justus A. Prentice Award from the National Association of Educational Service Agencies at its conference in Houston, Texas, in December.  

Mr. Jesse Reed, a 1999 graduate of Valley View High School and 2005 graduate of Miami University. Reed has spent his career in social services, giving back to his community in many ways. He served as a Valley View Board of Education member from 2010-2013, was Board president for two years, and earned the distinction of Master School Board Member. He currently serves as the Life Services Director of Ohio for Caresource. He spends many hours working with Valley View Pee Wee football, Valley View Rec basketball, VV Metro basketball, and Twin Creek Mudcats baseball. 

Mr. Robert Rettich III, a 1971 graduate of Valley View High School, a 1975 graduate of Miami University, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law, admitted to practice in 1978. Judge Rettich is the 5th generation of his family to be born and raised in Germantown. Prior to his election as Miamisburg Municipal Court Judge, Rettich managed a successful private law practice for over three decades and is involved in many community activities, including D.A.R.E, Boy Scouts, and the Montgomery County Drug-Free Coalition. 

Mr. Bob Skidmore, a 1982 graduate of Fairborn High School, 1987 graduate of The Ohio State University, and 1996 graduate of Wright State University. Skidmore began his teaching and coaching career at Valley View High School in 1987. While at Valley View, Mr. Skidmore taught math, coached baseball for six years, and coached football for 34 years, including three state championship teams in the 90s. As head coach, he was named Southwest District Coach of the Year twice, Miami Valley Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year three times, State of Ohio Division Four Coach of the Year, and received many other accolades. 

The Hall of Fame Committee congratulates these fine inductees and looks forward to presenting them to the community on January 22nd.
