“Creating these wraparound care and education options for families is part of our strategic plan, and I am glad to say that we will be able to offer a preschool option for all families who want it, starting next school year,” said Valley View Superintendent Ben Richards. “This is the first step in our plan to create an Early Learning Center in the current high school as part of our future facilities updates.”
For the 2021-22 school year the YMCA programs will be held in the Intermediate Building in Germantown. This new partnership with YMCA Child Care benefits working families by offering care that is convenient, helpful, and caring. Financial scholarships are available for those in need and district teachers will be offered a discount for child care. YMCA members also receive available discounts.
The YMCA Child Care will be open 6:30am–6pm for preschoolers including lunch and an afternoon snack. Before and after care is available for school aged children, including an afternoon snack and homework help. And because the YMCA understands working families, the program will be open for care on professional development days and all out-of-school days.
Registration packets will be available for parents to pick up at the Preble YMCA in Eaton. Parents may also fill out an interest form at the YMCA website where they will be directed to the appropriate person. Call 937.610.9622 for more info.
The YMCA will be hiring staff for these programs. To apply, visit the YMCA website or text Dayton YMCA to 97211.
