It certainly was a memorable “Crazy Christmas” on December 6th! Second grade students from the Valley View Primary performed their Christmas pageant titled “Crazy Christmas”.

Primary Music Teacher, Mrs. Dickson, began preparations and reviewing material for the second grade Christmas program during summer break.   This year Mrs. Dickson narrowed the choices down between two different Christmas shows, but wasn’t satisfied with either one after she met these students. “When I began the school year with these second grade students I just didn’t think either program was a good fit for this group. Then, I found “Crazy Christmas” and I knew they would love it!” said Mrs. Dickson. The program contains songs and musical parts for about 15 students. Mrs. Dickson added a special twist this year by writing enough lines for ALL second graders, to ensure all students had a turn at the mic. In addition, we had 70 out of 114 second graders try out for a solo! It’s wonderful to have so many students willing to sing! Each of those 70 students were given a solo, duet, or small group so they could take their turn in the spotlight. “There is nothing better for Christmas spirit than seeing the second grade program… I am so proud of them!” says Mrs. Dickson.

Special thanks to teacher aide, Mrs. Robinson, for making the reindeer instruments and Mr Travis Shade, for his lights and sound equipment. Acknowledgments go to Mrs. Shade, Mrs. Swanson, Mrs. Neissel, Mrs. Pitcher, Mrs. Ratliff, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Swan, Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Moon, Mrs. Yu, Mrs. King, and Mrs. Bunger for helping with decorations, practices and performances! The program could not have gone on without them!
