Second Grade class visit to Fox Gallery

The second grade class of Mrs. Wilson took a walking field trip on October 6th to Fox Gallery.  Owner’s Tom and Julie Fox shared with the students their extensive collection of rocks and minerals.

Students have been studying a unit in Science regarding rocks and minerals.  The learning objective for this trip was for the students to observe sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks as well as various minerals.  This was great way to wind up this unit.

Students comments regarding this field trip experience: Caitlin Steinecker, “I like seeing all of the rocks and minerals, especially the mineral with the water trapped inside it.”  Amiya Donson, “I loved seeing AND tasting the salt rock!”  Avery Kelhoffer, “Going to Fox Gallery was the best field trip I have had so far!”  Audri Frizzell, “I liked all of the crystals.” Mason Brant, “It was a cool field trip.”

Thank you to Tom and Julie Fox for hosting the class!
