The State of Ohio will co-fund the work on the site of the new junior high and high school. The contingency fund can cover the cost of sanitary and water if the District has to pay for all the cost. Also, we will partner with Farmersville to work out all of the details.

JEDD Information

info clipartThere are a lot of misconceptions and discussions around a Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) and the school tax levy.  JEDDs provide a lot of opportunities for communities to work together to improve their local economic situation; however, because of the complexity of the options they require public hearings, documentation, and all parties to agree to the terms before they are formed.  When the school levy passes, Germantown and Farmersville will both benefit from the infusion of state dollars into the community.  It may be possible for a JEDD covering just the new Junior High/High School Building to add a financial benefit to our townships and add additional income from the building contracts to the Valley View community.  Such an agreement would only occur if it benefited our taxpayers.

The JEDD would be carefully crafted to only generate taxes from the employees and contractors of the school and redistribute those funds to help our community cover any revenue shortages or burdens as a result of the new schools.  No such agreement is in place, but could be developed with public input as we go through the process of designing our schools.

Every Friday, in Mrs. Goecke's first grade class,  a new Lucky Duck is chosen.  A student is chosen who is kind and has worked hard all week!  The Lucky Duck gets to be Teachers helper for a week. Their job includes passing out papers and taking papers to the office.  He/She gets to be the line leader and take home the Lucky Duck Bag and bring it back with items to share with the class.  They proudly display the Luck Duck sign on their desk as well.  Congratulations to Liam Cole who is the Lucky Duck this week!
