For the second year in a row, Valley View Intermediate has been awarded the Momentum Award.  This award is granted by Ohio’s State Board of Education.  The award was presented by State Board of Education District 3 representative, Charlotte McGuire. Valley View Superintendent Richard Earley, building Principal Bill Lauson and staff members were present as the Intermediate building was honored.

The Momentum Award recognizes schools that have received A’s on each Value-Added measure included on Ohio’s school and district report cards.  Value-added analysis helps educators measure the impact schools and teachers have on students’ academic progress rates from year to year.  The 2016-2017 report card for the school shows the pupils in the Intermediate earned greater than expected growth in reading and mathematics.  Mrs. Mcguire commented that Valley View Intermediate does a great job at recognizing the individual needs of our students and works with these students to ensure their academic growth from year to year.
