VV FFA Chapter offering relief to Kansas Farmers

VVFFA kansas relief

This morning, Valley View-MVCTC FFA members met up with the Ohioans who are taking feed and supplies to the ranchers in Kansas to help re-build from the devastating wildfires that occurred earlier this month. Our FFA chapter gathered supplies and prepared snack bags for the 70+ volunteers who headed west in a caravan of more than 30 vehicles.  For more information about this project, visit  Dayton's Fox 45 News was also there today.  Watch tonight for a story about this relief project.

The State of Ohio will co-fund the work on the site of the new junior high and high school. The contingency fund can cover the cost of sanitary and water if the District has to pay for all the cost. Also, we will partner with Farmersville to work out all of the details.

JEDD Information

info clipartThere are a lot of misconceptions and discussions around a Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) and the school tax levy.  JEDDs provide a lot of opportunities for communities to work together to improve their local economic situation; however, because of the complexity of the options they require public hearings, documentation, and all parties to agree to the terms before they are formed.  When the school levy passes, Germantown and Farmersville will both benefit from the infusion of state dollars into the community.  It may be possible for a JEDD covering just the new Junior High/High School Building to add a financial benefit to our townships and add additional income from the building contracts to the Valley View community.  Such an agreement would only occur if it benefited our taxpayers.

The JEDD would be carefully crafted to only generate taxes from the employees and contractors of the school and redistribute those funds to help our community cover any revenue shortages or burdens as a result of the new schools.  No such agreement is in place, but could be developed with public input as we go through the process of designing our schools.

Images of possible new district buildings

Should the ballot issue to be voted upon on Tuesday May 2, 2017 pass, the following sketches provide a general concept of the school buildings to be built for the students of the Valley View Local Schools. In addition, you will find potential site plans for the location of the buildings.  Again it is stressed these are possible design images and site plans.  Please watch for further information to be posted here on the website regarding the upcoming bond issue.
