On Friday April 27th, Valley View MVCTC FFA hosted their first annual Agricultural Awareness Day for the Valley View Primary and Intermediate Schools for students in grades 2-6. The purpose of the event was to educate students on the topic of agriculture and all that it encompasses.
FFA Members, planned and designed the curriculum for the day. Their goal is to educate students in the surrounding area on the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. 26 FFA Members participated in the curriculum for 6 agricultural-related stations including; tractor safety, natural resources/wildlife, seed germination, horses and cattle, swine, and goats and sheep. Over 600 students from Valley View were able to participate in the day’s activities.
The elementary students were able to experience various aspects of the agriculture industry and enjoyed the opportunity to see and learn in a hands-on setting.
