Dinner Theatre in November

The VVHS Performing Arts Department offers the community the fifth annual Dinner Theatre, featuring vignettes from three beloved musicals; Hansel and Gretel, Brigadoon, and Wicked.  This magical presentation of arts and entertainment will be offered in one performance only on Monday evening November 23rd at 6:15 pm at the Germantown United Methodist Church.  Show tickets are $14.00, and include dinner followed by the show. Have your athlete tested!

On November 19th Valley View High School, in association with mCore Athletes and the American Heart Association will screen your student athletes for cardiac conditions and abnormalities which may put them at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The test is $75 per athlete for athletes 14-22 years of age. The 10-12 minute tests will be doneThursday, November 19th in room 125 at VVHS from 8 a.m.until 5 p.m. To pre-register for the test please go to www.mcoreathletes.com

Senior Night at Barker Field

Friday, Oct. 23rd will be Senior Night prior to the Spartans vs. Blue Devils Football Game at Barker Field. All SENIOR athletes for Fall Sports and Band will be recognized with their parents. Please gather in the South End Zone by 6:15. The recogition program will begin at 6:30.

The Goodwill Truck is Here!

Goodwill's Week 9 of Football season pits Valley View against Brookville High School. The Goodwill Drive to Victory trailer will be parked at VVHS Monday from noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday thru Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until noon.


Tournament set
Our boys soccer team is seeded #8 and will play #5 seed Chaminade-Julianne on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00. This game will be played at Wright State University.
Volleyball Team Wins! The team beat Oakwood in the First Round of Division II playoffs. Next game vs. Stivers HS this Wednesday 7:30 pm at Fenwick HS

FREE Concert Tonight

EVERYONE INVITED - FREE Concert tonight (Oct. 20th) in the Valley View Intermediate Auditorium. Tickets for Ryan Holiday in Concert are free at the door! Featuring Speaker Joel Penton - for Character Standup! Penton, member of Three Big Ten Championships at The Ohio State University,  was at VVHS this morning and offers a message students need to hear! 7 p.m. Intermediate Auditorium (tickets have a mis-print with a HS location - but are incorrect - concert IS at Intermediate.) Thanks to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

It's Cheer Clinic Time!

The Valley View High School Cheerleaders will be hosting the annual Cheerleading Clinic for VV students age kindergarten through sixth grade the week of September 21st!  The learning clinics will be held Monday, Sept. 21st from 6:30 – 8 P.M. at VVHS, and Wednesday, Sept. 23rd from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. at VVHS.  The performance will be during pre-game of the varsity football game vs. Franklin at Barker Field Friday night, September 25th

Power is out at Junior High

.....due to an accident on Farmersville-West Carrollton Rd., the power is out at Valley View Junior High School. If you are trying to call the Jr. High, the phones are not working. The power will be restored as soon as possible.

5K Planning Meeting is Sunday

A Planning Committee for the upcoming 5K race in Germantown will meet Sunday, Sept. 13 at El Ranchol Grande Restaurante at 7 p.m. All interested in helping with the annual event are welcome.

Football Scrimmage Friday, August 21

 This Friday's Football scrimmage at Springfield Shawnee is a jamboree. There will be an admission of $2 per person.  Money collected will be donated to a local charity .

Graduation tonight at the Schuster Center

Valley View High School Commencement will take place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Schuster Center for Performing Arts in downtown Dayton. The Center is located at the corner of 2nd Street and Main. Parking is available across the street in the parking garage, or parking is free on the street after 6 p.m.

Retirees at Valley View

The Valley View Board of Education approved the retirement of eight teachers at its May 18 regular board meeting. Representing over 200 combined years in education, retirees, flanked by Board President Brent Byerly and Superintendent Richard Earley are -  Front row Laura Boyd from Family and Consumer Science at the High School; Marta Hopkins, the district’s Special Education Coordinator/Psychologist; Sue Oblinger, 4th grade teacher Intermediate School. Back row - Susan Woodward, High School Math; and Steve Moyer, Social Studies at the Junior High School.
Not pictured:  Larry Gillman, Social Studies at the High School; Leslie Sutter, Spanish at the High School, and Mary Lou Braun, Language Arts/Science from the Junior High School.
The board expressed its appreciation to all of the retirees.

Recycling Bin!

The Paper Recycling Bin is back at the High School. Drive around back and place any kind of paper and junk mail, etc. into the bin. The Recyclers ask that you place your paper in clear bags please!
There's also a bin for bottles and cans! Thank You for helping us recycle.

HS Scheduling Meeting for Parents of 8th grade students -- Dr. Warnke, the freshman/sophomore counselor, will be sharing information with parents about course selections for their child's freshman year of high school. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Cheerleading Tryout Information

Any current 8th grader thru Junior interested in trying out for HS Cheerleading for the 2015-2016 school year should attend the tryout informational meeting Tues. Cheer Clinic on Wednesday!

The practice night for the VVHS Cheer Clinic, previously scheduled for Jan. 26 was cancelled due to our snow day. The participants WILL practice Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 6-8 p.m. (Please note, this is a longer practice). Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. They will perform at the basketball game on Friday, Jan. 30th. The participants will receive their tee-shirts Friday prior to the performance! Questions? Coach inducted into Hall of Fame
Quite an honor for Valley View as one of our retired coaches is inducted into the Cradle of Coaches.Dona Layman will be inducted this Saturday at Miami University. Congratulations Coach Layman!

School on Friday for Students

Valley View Local Schools will be in session on Friday, January 16th in lieu of the professional development day for staff. Since we have been in session 1 day since Christmas Break, the first semester ends on January 23rd, and State Testing begins in February, we feel it’s important to have our students in session on Friday.

VV Football Team Receives Honor and Award

The Valley View High School Football Team was selected to meet with legendary Super Bowl Champion Football Coach, Jon Gruden, on Saturday, Dec. 20th.  Six players and Coach Ketron attended along with individuals from three other local teams from the Dayton area.  Each team was awarded a $1,000 check. The team also spent tome learning tips from the famous NFL coach.  Congratulations to Coach Ketron and the VVHS Football Team!

Band Concert

The Valley View Band Concert will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. in the VVJHS Gymnasium and the HS Concert will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. in the VVHS Gymnasium.

Band Butter Braids!
The one and only Butter Braids are back. The band/Choir is selling them for the Disney trip.
*Each braid is $13 each
*They come in Apple, Cherry, Blueberry & Cream Cheese, Bavaraian Creme with Choc icing, Cinnamon, Double Choc with Cream cheese icing and Caramel Roll
* Each braid is 14-16 inches long after baked and feeds 11 people
